Inspirational People: Konstantin Kofta

Hi! I know it's been quite long time since the last time I was here. Regardless so many excuses I've been telling you, but I have to admit that this year is definitely the busiest year so far. Working in a small company requires you to work more than you ask for. We must be able to multitasking. I learn a lot here and I got lots of knowledge that I must know to run a company. It's fun, but yet still-- nerve wracking.

Anyways, let's talk about fashion. I've been thinking about how boring major labels and mega designers become nowadays. They become less creative, and more commercial oriented instead. I'm more concerned about the underdogs since then. You'll be surprised with their originality and creativity. Their works are magnificent and off limits!

One of them named Konstantin Kofta. His each collection appears as a form art installation and leave me goosebumps!  The original ideas, great details, rough fabrics, and unusual shapes make effortlessly elegant and sensual garments.

Hey there..

Can't believe  I've been leaving this favorite part of my life (painting) for quite long. Not really that long actually, but it's long enough to make me losing any inspiration to draw. My job seems monopoly my times and my brain so much. (that's such a bad excuse I know :S), but if I can share my problem a little bit.. I've been currently struggling at work lately.. Not because I hate my job, I love my job.. I finally can chase my dream and working there is a right bridge for sure. But I.. well it's actually WE (me and team) are having some issue with our new Creative Director. And we're still dealing with her attitude. Short story, now I'm trying to prove her that we're capable and that slowly makes me forget about my real passion. And that's not healthy, I know.

I actually tried to draw something.. Lately ethnicity seems interesting for me. Not the traditions or the culture, but the people. I'm so amazed how everybody in this whole wide world is so different. We're so colorful. And our colors should've not make bridges between us, Our colors and differences should make us realize that this world is not as bad as we thought. God made us beautiful and I'm gonna show my gratitude with my paintings of them. I started it with a drawing of an old man from Tibet that I haven't finished it 'till now. Too bad..

Anyways, I bought a canvas and the holder several months a go. Now I always feel bad everytime I come home and find my canvas is still blank, all white.

Cool Granny: Linda Rodin

An everlasting Fashion Stylist, and Beauty Entrepreneur, Linda Rodin always inspires me with her edgy, fresh, and fun outlooks. This true New Yorker always knows how to dressed well and how to make herself look amazing every day. Without too much attributes (maybe if she should, she can tell Iris Apfel about the art of "Less is More"), she successfully can make herself look 20 years younger! She's the perfect example that Fashion doesn't have to be limited by age, and Beauty is not always coming from young-fresh skins. Who needs botox if you can walk with style, like she does?

“You can be sexy and elegant without being over the top. At the end of the day everybody wants to look elegant. Sometimes they just don't know how.”

“I don't buy designer clothing for myself,” Rodin adds, “I’d never spend $3000 on a handbag. Ever! I refuse.”

“I look at my pictures when I was younger and go: God, why didn't I realize I was so cute? But I see myself now as that little old lady with long hair and wrinkles and think: 'And what's so wrong with that?'”

Imperfect Is The Truest Beauty

I love the way people see people nowadays. Especially in Fashion. They become more open to everything, and not afraid to be themselves. Beautiful people have less space in fashion world lately. And somehow flawed ones are more attractive. Their weaknesses turn to be their strength and that what makes them unique.

That inspires me to draw a photo of a man who has lots of freckles all over his face. This guy is not ugly at all, matter fact, he's beautiful.

Little Hello

Hello there! How are you doing lately? It's been quite long since the last time I post my drawing here. I've been really busy in my new office, designing this and that. My work is pretty awesome actually. I'm not only designing clothes (I'm currently working for Urban Outfitters, FYI) but also doing creative things for our house brand like giving ideas for website layout, photoshoot, and video campaign. It's a bit overwhelming but still, I'm excited!!

Frankly, I miss my drawing stuffs and still looking a spare time to start again. But for today, I'm gonna post a drawing of my friend, Moussa that I haven't posted here since last month. You can check the drawing in Art Exhibitions page.

Off the record, Moussa is a promising writer. Please stop by and get in to his life journey at www.mossac.wordpress.com. Feel free to comment. Encouraging critics are appreciated :)

This is Aimee, my niece. She's more as my playmate actually. We often spend our times together, and it's always fun! Today I had a chance to draw her and she got a chance to write her name on the drawing :D
